I posted in Irish-wide message board instead of here. Looking for information for Anne (Anastasia?) Mcleane who went from Co Wexford to Newfoundland in the early 1800's - married a John or James Curran in October 1822 in St Johns.    thanks Tory O'Connell

  • Tory:

Can you provide the year of birth, parents names and religious denomination? Also I assume Anne was married in 1892?

If she was RC, there are very few RC parishes for Co. Wexford on Roots Ireland which complicates Wexford research.

  • Hi,

I'm afraid you now know everything I know except I must have mistyped something. They were married in October 1822 and I assume they were RC as the Currans were. It's a transcription from  a newspaper posting from St Johns Newfoundland: "1822 oct st jns rc jas of tallow? co wtfd married anna mcleane co wexfd"

    best
