Spencer's (Ellen, Mary, Thomas J.)

I assume you are looking for Ellen's birth & I assume she is your ggg gmother?

Do you know how old she was when she married in 1845?

Yes, she would be my ggg grandmother. The only thing I have is that she was born in 1830 Ireland. That's going by census information when she came to America.

Her son, Thomas J. Spencer is my gg grandfather. He was born April 9, 1859- and baptized at Saint Peter & Paul's in Cork, Ireland. I found his baptism record. On the record it says that his mother is Ellen Rohen, and his father is John Spencer. 

In a census from after Thomas was married, a girl named Mary Spencer who was older than Thomas moved into his house, and under relation to the head of the house it says sister (she says that she was born in December of 1848). 

In a census in 1880 for New York, Ellen Spencer and her two sons live with her, John Spencer, born in approx 1855 (give or take a year). 

My thinking is John Spencer married Ellen Rohen, they had three children. Mary Spencer (December 1848), John Spencer (approx 1855), and Thomas J. Spencer (April 9, 1859).

Is there any way you can screen shot the information? I don't have money to pay for subscriptions to websites (even my family is shocked of how far i'm getting with all free websites and census info, etc).

Both Mary's birth/baptism record and the marriage record are from YOUGHAL RC 

I didn't find any Spencers or Rohans in  the Tithe Applotments (1823-37)  or Griffiths Valuations 1848-64 (both free online) 

The 1901 & 1911 Irish Censuses are also free online and there are some Rohans in Youghal in 1911

That should be good, I know especially when people came to the U.S. when they gave their names whoever was writing them down could have spelled them wrong, or people coming here changed them because of discrimination against the irish in the first place. 

I'm half losing my mind because as I keep searching my mom mentions that she thinks one of the women somewhere would be a step mother- which could be why i'm hitting some dead ends.

A woman I know from Ireland, works with my mom, I've been talking to her because one of my ancestors, her name was Annie, married Thomas J. Spencer in New york in 1885, he was 27, she was 13. Had her first baby before she was 15, my friend was horrified because she says a child is a child, 13 is still considered practically a baby in Ireland (depending on circumstances of course).

I have a GG Grand parent of William Spencer, born within a few years of 1850 or so.  He was known as "the colonel".  Dont now much more at this stage as i've only started his line.  Three of his children suvsequently went to the USA. One survived and married there.
