My great great grandparents were James Donoghue and Honoria Long...He was born circa 1835 and she circa 1836 according to the records at St. John's in Causeway.....She died in 1882 while James was still alive at the time of the 1911 census....I'd like to know when James passed away and I'd like to confirm their burial place if possible...it may be Rahela but I'd like to know that for sure...if possible..also I'd like to converse with anyone else who might be researching this family.

  • Hi there,

Thank you very much for your query. You've done very well to confirm that James was still alive at the time of the 1911 census. That would make him about 76 in 1911. The chances are that he remained in the same locality for the rest of his life. Have you tried checking the newspapers from the area for death notices? Or checking for death certificates in the General Register Office (GRO)? I realise that you could be checking for a 20 year period. Perhaps a quicker way to check is to write to the parish priest of the area.

In the meantime, keep checking the IRO website for any updates.

    Kind regards,
