Hi - my family emigrated to South Africa in the mid 1800s (I think). The family that came across were Martin Bartholomew Hopkins (Born November 11th 1812 in Dunmore, County Galway) and he was married to Julia McNab (Born May 10th 1825 in Oranmore, County Galway).
Would love to connect with long lost relatives and other people who would know some of the history around my family in Ireland.

Civil registration started in Ireland in 1864 so you have to rely on church records pre-1864. Unfortunately, the RC parish records for both Dunmore and Oranmore start in 1833 after the births of Martin and Julia.
I searched Roots Ireland for a marriage record but was unsuccessful. Did they marry in Ireland?
