Hello ,

I was wondering whether you could help me locate any Crosbys in the area whether past or present.

Irish famly Anchestry research is really frustrating, any help would be gratefully welcome.

Many Thanks

Sarah.

  • Sarah:

There are 34 people named Crosbie in Meath in the 1911 census and close to 50 Crosbys. Any names and ages?

  • Hi Sarah

I see you are in Roscommon,My Great Great Grandfather left there sometime during the famine, I have been trying to find descendants for many years without success, so I thought I would just message you just in case there is a possible connection.

    Cheers

  • Hi Kevin,

I wonder if we are looking for the same people.

I've been  trying to find Patrick &John Crosby from Roscommon,my Great Great Grandfather.

Patrick moved to Rushall and Brownhills In Walsall and Married Jane Ghilks,I have there marriage certificate . I'm a little confused though because the Anchestry website say's that patrick crosby marries Jane and I think it was either the 1851 ,or the 1861 census they are living together,  then on the next census Jane Ghilks is residing with John Crosby .

What i've found out so far is Hugh his father was born at around 1801,and one point possibly stationed at Crinkle Barracks, kings county.

    Hope this info helps.

Hope to hear from you soon

    Sarah
