The above marriage according to Rootsireland was 6th August 1843 at Termonmaguirk. Witnesses were Michael Hollywood & Patrick Morris. Isobel's address was stated as 'Urbelle'. I am to believe this is in the parish of Tamlaght.

Urbelle was also the address given for Ann Kelly who married Patrick McBride. Michael Hollywood was also the witness for Simon Hollywood's marriage to Isobel Kelly.

As irony has it the eldest McBride child John McBride marries Sarah Ann Hollywood in Adelaide SA after Sarah migrates to South Australia, at the age of 20 with her sister Catherine.

I am trying to find birth/baptism records for this Hollywod family specifically the above mentioned.

    Hope this clarifies matters.

  • I had a look for the children’s baptisms but cannot see them on any of the on-line sites.  There are some parishes that are not on-line and some with no records for the period you are looking at (1843 – 1863). So possibly they were baptised in one of those.

The other aspect that puzzles me a little bit is the location of Urbelle. I think it ought to be in Termonmaguirk. Under Canon Law one of the parties should be resident in the parish. Where one resides elsewhere, the record usually says “X townland, parish of Y.” So where you just have a townland name, it’s normally in the parish the ceremony took place in. Tamlaght is some way away from Termonmaguirk, so I’d be surprised if that was the location. I’ve looked at all the townland names in Termonamguirk and can’t see one anything like Urbelle. However sometimes you get local names that don’t appear in standardized lists. You might need to get in touch with someone familiar with the area to see if they can help.

  • Just browsing - no family connection.

Urbelle was possibly spelled Urbal which is a townland of 240 acres in the Barony of Dungannon Lower, Civil Parish Tamlaght, Poor Law Union Cookstown.

    I hope this helps you

  • Adding to earlier answer.

I have found that Urbal is also pronounced Earball.  I have also found from different records that the Barony could also be shown as Dungannon Middle or Dungannon Upper depending what pages you look at (and sometimes Lower, Middle or Upper come before Dungannon.

You will find a map of the Parishes of County Tyrone at www(dot)cotyroneireland(dot)com/maps/parish(dot)html

The Townlands of the parishes are at www(dot)cotyroneireland(dot)com/townlands/townlands(dot)html

    Good luck, Kathy

  • Hello,

My relatives come from Termonmaguirk parish...

I live in Tyrone. Urbelle is a sub- area in the townland of Innishative Carrickmore(mordern name for Termonmaguirk) There are still Kelly families in the area also a Mc Bride...There are no Hollywoods left though I am aware that there once was in that area...

If you have had your DNA tested , upload your zipped file results to Gedmatch which is free...on the opening page scroll down right hand side and open ancestrol projects,  find The Heathers Edge group (Eileen Quinn) and the Co.Tyrone genalogy group( Clare Lawer Kilgallon)   & join both....These groups cover Termonmaguirk and have local members who have a wide range of knowledge about the various families....Hope this is helpful...Good luck...
