Hello from Darwin Australia,
I have just discovered my family on my mothers side Poole and Patten from Ireland
My Great Grandmother was Hannah Patten who emigrated from Ireland with her family in 1853 aboad the "Caroline"
Hannahs parents were from Londonderry and her father a farmer.
My Great Grandfather was Henry Kisser Poole and he arrived in 1863 aboad the Rockcliffe.
All enlightenment will be greatly appreciated....xo

Not much enlightenment I'm afraid
The Assisted Immigrants List has Hannah's age as 6 so born 1847/7
The govt records start 1864 so we rely on church records before this.
I had no luck finding her birth/baptism or the parents' marriage on www.rootsireland.ie/ nor any of the siblings
Looks like John was born c 1808 but there are 7 birth/baptisms for John Patton + surname variants 1808 + - 5 years but none from Derry!
I had a look on ancestry and the poole family tree (owner Trudy Quantrill) has Henry's death as 1888 aged 46 in Qld so born c 1842; I couldn't find an Irish birth record for him 1842 + - 10 years however.
