Hello again!

I found a baptismal record in 1828 in Killoe but did not find a record for Mary. The record transcription does not show a townland. I checked the Tithe listings for Peter but did not find a record.

Unfortunately church records for that period are very scant. However, the Scanlon name is associated with a townland in Killoe called Soran. Indeed, in the past Soran was divided into Soran Scanlon, Soran Coyle and Soran as the townland is long and narrow and these family names helped identify which part of Soran was being referred to. These divisions don't appear on a map and are somewhat forgotten these days. There were also Scanlons in Killeter in the same parish.

Curran seems to be associated with the neighbouring parish, Clonbroney. There is a death record for a James Curran in 1853 in parish records. There were also Currans in Tullybawn in the same parish.

I see Dudly Scanlon mentioned in the 1796 Flaxgrowers List of County Longford, he is recorded in Longford Barony. There were just six Baronies in County Longford and Longford Barony contained Soran Townland. Soran Townland is where Scanlons and other surnames are recorded which match those closeby Dudly Scanlon on the 1796 list and match surnames to be found at Soran Townland in the Tithe Aplotment Books of c1825.
