Hello,
I posted last year asking for information in my Great, great, great grandfather Daniel Roberts.
Daniel Roberts was born 1821 in the Ballinhassig/Ballyheady area of Co. Cork. I was looking to find out which church Daniel was baptized in and if the church was still there. Also, I was looking to see where Daniel and his family lived. Father John Roberts, mother Ellen Reilly.
What is the difference between Ballinhassig and Ballyheady? Thank you for your help!

Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!
I responded to your 2016 message about the Roberts family.
Ballinhassig is a village in Ballinaboy civil parish.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballinhassig Ballyheedy is a townland in the sam ciivl parish.
Here is a link to the RC parish of Ballinhassig http://corkandross.org/parishes/ballinhassig/ You can see that Ballinhassig is the main church of the overall parish but there are also two subordinate churches in Ballyheedy and Goggins. Both Ballinhassig and Ballyheedy churches date back to 1822/1823.
Here is the 1837 Lewis Topographical Dictionary for Ballinaboy ciivl parish and Ballinhassig and you can see that the churches are mentioned.
https://www.johngrenham.com/records/lewis.php?civilparishid=134&civilpa…
If you use Google Maps and enter Ballinhassig and then Ballyheedy, you will see that Ballyheedy is about 1.2 kilometers south of Ballinhassig.
Let me know if you have questions.

Hello Roger!
Thank you for your reply! I was looking to see if the actual church where Daniel was baptized in was still in Ballinhassig.
Much thanks, Mark

I guess the answer is maybe. Daniel was baptized in 1821 and it appears the church was built/dedicated 1822.
