In regards to gunpowder explosions in Delaware in the 19th and early 20th centuries, I am looking for information on the following individual (s):

All from County Cavan but parish, PLU, etc. unknown

John Brady, Junior

John Brady Senior

Patrick Brady, Junior

Any or all of these men could have gone by the name “Bready.” All started at the powder mills circa 1816 or 1817. John, Junior, was married to Ann Carroll, but I don’t know if they were married in Ireland or the USA.

John, Junior may have come over on the Ship Ontario from Dublin arriving in New York city  January 19, 1816; ship’s manifest lists John, Susan, and Anne Brady, from County Cavan.

Ship Amphion captain Jones from Dublin, arrived at New York City before Sept. 2 1815, a Patrick Brady on the passenger list.

Ship George and Albert,  47 days from Dublin, arrived at Philadelphia October 23,1815 a Patrick Brady on passenger list.

Ship Erin from Dublin, arrived  New York City Aug. 13,1817 with Patrick Brady, Patrick Brady Jr., Bridget Brady and children Terence, Peter and Philip.

Clearly, I’m not sure if any of these voyage entries are this Patrick, Junior.

    Hi Templeton,

Brady is one of the commonest surnames in Co. Cavan, many with the same first names as you have quoted, which makes it very difficult to identify whiere in Cavan they come from.  However if your query relates to specific events, I wonder were these event carried in the national papers here.  You might like to take out a subscription with https://www.irishnewsarchive.com and see was it reported in the local paper 'The Anglo Celt' which covers the years from 1846 to date.  You could also write to their editor at linda.oreilly@anglocelt.ie and ask them to publish your query giving them as much information as possible and your contact details, hoping that it may resonate with a reader  Another option might be to contact Cavan Genealogy at
