The above Edward FLESH is as far as I can go with my direct line.  However, I have many other FLESH records that would indicate they would be Edward's siblings or at least cousins but I am unable to connect them without Edward's parents names.  Most of this family seems to be from Burry Parish in the towns of Springville(Dandlestown) or Scurlockstown.  Can anyone tell me who I might write to in the local RC churchs to find Edward's parents?

Edward & Ann had 5 children:

Mary b 28 Nov1802

Bryan b 03 Apr1804

Edward b 21 Oct 1805

Catherine b 24 May 1809

John b 21 Jun 1812

  • Flesh/Fletcher:

    Welcome to Ireland reaching Out!

The RC baptismal records for Kells RC parish start in July 1791  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0940  so you won't find Edward's baptismal record. I looked at the subscription site Roots Ireland for Flesh baptismal records in Kells starting 1791. There are records in the early 1790s where the fathers are Edward/Edmond and Michael. Did not know if your 1782 Edward had younger siblings born July 1791 or later.

Let me know if you have questions.

  • You are right about Edward and Michael in the 1790's.  Those are the ones I am trying to link to my line.  Those and about 10 other family units that are just hanging out there connected to no one.  They have to be siblings or cousins.  Just can't get back far enough.  Thanks for your time and help.

  • Hi,

The Flesh family lived at Springville, Kilskyre, Kells, Co. Meath. The Flesh family are burried in the old graveyard in Kilskyre, Co. Meath.  I currently live in Springville and there is a house locals refer to as Flesh's. The house is located at the lightown/springville crossroads.  There are no members of the Flesh family alive locally but my father and aunts and uncles would remember some of the Flesh family. Feel free to email me if you would like more details on the locality.
