Searching for relations to James Byrne born around March 1817 in Cork. Baptized on April 5 1817 in Bandon Cork. Parents were Garrett Byrne and Ellen Coleman. On the wedding certificate for Lucy and James it stated that Garrett was a "Gentleman".
I suspect he had an older brother possibly named Garrett as it seems first borns usually carried the father or mothers name.
James went to England in the mid 1840's to become a doctor and graduated around 1845.
He lived in Australia for a bit then came back to England married Lucy Frankland in 1857 and went back to Australia. Two of their children, Lucy Ellen & Harriet Elizabeth were born in Australia. They then went back to England when Harriet was just a baby.
They lived in Little Ilford where James practiced as a doctor. They had two more children Alice Mary and James Coleman (my great grandfather). James died in 1869 in West Ham London.
