Hello, I am looking for cemetery information on my great-great-grandmother Elizabeth (McGowan) Askin. I do not know what cemetery her grave is in and was hoping you might know how I can find this information.
Elizabeth McGowan married Jeremiah Askin, in the Faughanvale Parish, on October 27, 1862 and their children were baptized in the Faughanvale Parish. They resided in Bolie when their last child was born. Elizabeth died about 1873 (month/day unknown) at approximately age 30. In 1874, widower Jeremiah and his 3 young children immigrated to Pennsylvania.
Do you know what Catholic cemetery Elizabeth would have been buried in since she was a member of the Faughanvale Parish? Are there multiple Catholic cemeteries that encompass Faughanvale? Any information you can provide is appreciated.
Thank you for your help!

Noirin,
I would e-mail the city council and ask them for assistance. Some of the gravestone records for Derry are available on-line but I am not sure that all are. They should know:

Probably worth explaining that most RC churches didn’t keep burial records. If the family could afford a gravestone then you may be able to trace them from that but if they are in an unmarked grave in the 1800s then there may not be a paper record.
