Hi all,

I am currently helping a friend of the family on a voluntary basis in his family search. He is a man in his 80s and from DNA matches we are fairly sure that he has a strong connection with the Killeavy family in Tullamore in Co. Offaly.

From my understanding they are large but closely connected family and we hope to chat to someone from the family that may have an interest in genealogy so that he could possibly figure out his connection to the family.

Can you ask your friend to post information about the ancestor who left Ireland. Name, year of birth, parents names etc. Our volunteers may then be able to assist in providing information from various data bases with Irish records.

  • Thanks for the replies. This man is coming from a position where his only link is via DNA so he doesn't know the exact link. He is trying to speak with someone locally that may be able to provide a starting off point. Ideally it would be to chat to someone in that family that has an interest in family history etc.
