Kerry's Eye Newspaper covered our story of Larry O'Connor, visiting from Bellingham, a small town 100 miles north of Seattle.
His father's family dates back to 1770 in the Dutch West Indies, St. Maarten. His mother was Mary "May" Mahony, born in 1884 in Camp near Castleisland. She came to the US around 1904. Joan through hours of research was able to locate the original family homestead. She even found a second cousin Eammon whom they met at the family farm in Camp, Castleisland.
Joan has been with the program for more than 12 years and takes care of a significant number of main towns and villages across Kerry. The work she's able to do and the connections she's made possible over the years are countless.
