BIRTH
Margaret Swift was probably born before 1827 (perhaps in 1826) and probably in County Tipperary, Ireland. If so, she was born in Ballingarry (Slievardagh) Civil Parish in Ballingarry Catholic Parish in the in the Cashel and Emly Diocese. As of 2021 her parents were unknown.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY
She married Redmond (Edmond on their marriage record) St John in 1847. It was his second, and her first, marriage. The last of her children with Redmond St John was born in 1852. At least one other child was born earlier. As of 2020 the names of their children included James and Mary. (None of the children was named John.) Their children were baptized according to Roman Catholic parishes.
DEATH
A Margaret St John, born in 1829, died in nearby County Kilkenny in 1908, and was not this person. This Margaret Swift St John's husband, Redmond, died a widower in 1883. This Margaret Swift St John is calculated to have died about 1882 in Earlshill Townland, Ballingarry (Slievardagh) Civil Parish in Ballingarry Catholic Parish in County Tipperary, Ireland.
BURIAL
Margaret Swift St John was almost certainly buried in South Tipperary near Earlshill Townland where she raised her children and died. Nearby graveyards were associated with churches (Saints Patrick and Oliver, St Mary's, and the Church of the Assumption). Nearby cemeteries were independent and show burials of Roman Catholics in Margaret's lifetime (Lanespark, Ballinalacken, and Crosscannon).
