Paddy Waldron, the Parish Administrator for Moyarta (originally IrelandXO parish 4822, now IrelandXO parish 6305), is a grandson of a native of the parish and has been researching the families of the parish since the 1970s.

Paddy was elected Chairman of the Clare Roots Society in September 2013, and has represented it on the Council of Irish Genealogical Organisations (CIGO) since January 2008. He was elected Chairman of CIGO for 2011 and 2012.

He is also Public Relations Officer of the Kilrush and District Historical Society (KDHS), founded in May 2012. Moyarta was part of the Kilrush Poor Law Union.

Paddy and his colleagues in the KDHS were the main movers behind the holding of the National Famine Commemoration in Kilrush town and the associated programme of events throughout the former Kilrush Poor Law Union in May 2013.

Paddy has also been co-administrator of the Clare Roots project at FamilyTreeDNA.com since it was set up in November 2015. He has also been compiling A Beginner's Adventures in Genetic Genealogy.
