  • The 1831 census for Co Derry has about 15 James Irwins (and variant spellings eg Erwin, Irvine etc).  Without some idea of where in the county the family lived, and their exact denomination, it?s difficult to advise where to search. (The 1831 census only named heads of household so wives and childrens names aren?t given).

    I have had a look for the family on rootsireland but got no matches. However not all church records are on that site, so that?s not conclusive.
