Bridget Fennen was born in County Clare, Ireland ca. 1838.  In 1855 she emigrated to the USA with her parents, first settling in Memphis, Tennessee. Bridget later settled in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa where she married Daniel Carmody in 1866.  They had two children: John and Mary Carmody.

Mr. Carmody died 4 years after his marriage to Bridget. She died on 21 March 1888 and was buried in St. Marguerite's cemetery [Mt. Calvary].
