Bridget's parents were John McKenna and Ann Tait. She married Patrick Farrelly in Moynalty, February 8, 1864. They left Ireland for the U.S. sometime in the spring of 1864 and settled in New Haven, CT for ten years. They lived the next four years in Farmington, CT where Patrick worked as a gardener at Miss Porter's School for Girls. She and Patrick had six children, an infant who died in New Haven, and four girls: Mary, Ann, Katie and Lizzie. Their only son, George Thomas, was my grandfather. The family left Connecticut for Nebraska in 1878. Bridget died, sadly, in an institution in Norfolk, Nebraska of Tuberculosis.

I know very little about her life before she married, except that she was living in Skearke with her sister and her family (Catherine McKenna Lynch) at the time of her marriage.
