According to her Australian death certificate, Bridget was born in Co. Westmeath around 1796, the daughter of John and Mary Quinn.

She married Denis O'Neill in Castletown at the age of 17 and gave birth to seven children:- James (Jan 25th 1815); Dennis (Nov 17th 1820); James (Nov 19th 1822); Dennis (April 10th, 1826); Thomas (July 9th 1827); Mary (April 12th 1830) and Patrick (April 23rd 1833) were all baptised in Clonmellon, Co Westmeath. The parents abode was given as Kilrush for the baptism of the elder james, but Clonlough for the other children.
