Migrated to/Born in Australia

My 2 x great grandmother Catherine Murphy was born 1841 in Ballygurteen, Kilkenny and died in Prahran, Victoria Australia. Catherine was the second youngest of 5 children to Laurence Murphy and Catherine Doyle.

In 1856 Catherine and her youngest sister Margaret Maria(1844-1880) immigrated to Australia with their mother where they were to meet Catherine's oldest sibling Patrick. Four of the five siblings came to Australia - Patrick 1832-1885 married Mary Power who was born in Paulstown in 1836 & had 9 children; Mary 1834-1894  did not marry; Anne 1839-1884 married Michael Walsh and had 4 children; Margaret Maria 1844-1880 married George Freer and had 2 children. Once in Australia Catherine married Edmund Loughlin who was from Castlewarren, Kilkenny, they had 8 children together. After living for a short time in St Kilda, Melbourne where their first child Patrick was born and sadly died, they moved to Kyneton in rural Victoria to set up as coopers with Edmunds brothers.

In 1875 at the very young age of 43 Edmund passed away, later Catherine married David Barry and had two more children.

Catherine passed away 1900 in Prahran, Victoria, Australia, her youngest daughter Catherine Maria was living in Prahran with her husband Thomas Begley and their children so one would assume Catherine was living with them at the time of her death.
