Family history books says John Donavin - landed gentry from Armagh - left Ireland for America 1797/8 around the time of the Rebellion. Had been converted to Methodism when he heard Wesley preach - could have been about 1769 in Armagh - Donavin was 16 at the time - so guesing at birth year of abt 1753. Making him 45 at time of emigration.
