  • Hi,

My name is Trudy Boisvert. I'm looking for any information on my great grandfather Patrick McAuley. He was boorn in Ireland (I was told Enniskillen) and was forced to leave Ireland for being charged as a vagrant. He went to Glasgow Scotland with his wife Elizabeth (Hart) McAuley (not sure when) and in May of 1847 they left Glasgow on the ship the MIracle with a infant named Mary headed to Canada. The ship was shipwrecked off the Magdellan Islands and they were taken by schooners to Pictou Nova Scotia Canada where they settled and died. Is there anyone out there that might have information Patrick or Elizabeth. I would be very grateful.

  • My relative was born in County Leitrim, Ireland in 1788 and died in New Ireland, Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada on Dec 1st, 1880. I don't know when they came to Canada or other family members who accompanied them. The dates do make a Mary possible but I don't know.

  • Hi Darrell'

It seems that your John McAuley and my Patrick McAuley are cousins. As I was told thaat Patrick went to Canada with his cousin John.  Can you send me the info you have on John so I can try and match them up

  • The only information I have is what I posted.John was born in 1788 at County Leitrim, Ireland. He died on Dec 1st, 1880 at New Ireland, Albert County, New Brunswick, Canada, I don't know the name of his wife but they had a daughter Catherine, born Dec 10th, 1819 in Ireland. She died on Dec. 8th, 1907 at Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada. She married my g g grandfather, John J.P. Harnett. He was born in 1803 at Youghal, County Cork, Ireland and died June 1st, 1888 at Rexton, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada. It's possible they were married before coming to Canada (don't know) but if there are records of Catherine's birth you may find more information on John. Sorry I wasn't of more help.
