John and his wife Mary came to the Boston area about 1840 and their 3 sons followed years lataer. John, Thomas and Michael joined the Army in Cambridge and all 3 fought in the Civil War. John was a prisoner in Andersonville and died there in 1864.
Thomas and Michael worked in the shoe factories of Holliston and Ashland. They died of their war wounds young.
They are buried in MIlford MA in St Marys Cemetary. John is buried in Andersonville camp.
