Joseph Connolly and Mary McGloin were married in Glenade on 09 Feb 1893 and subsequently had all four children baptised in Glenade Church.

According to references given to Joseph in November 1898 and April 1899 he was employed as a calver, milking and looking after cattle in general.  One reference is from a John Young  Cloghore (Clyhore) Belleek, Donegal.  He is a retired NS School Teacher, so perhaps he taught Joseph at one time, although he is recorded in the 1901 & 1911 census as Church of Ireland.  The second 1898 reference is from his employer Terence Brady from Ballintrillick.  The April reference from Tredinnick of Ballyloughan.  It may be that at this point they emmigrated to Scotland.

Despite all the references to him being a farmer I find that on the birth certificates of his four children he is recorded as being a shopkeeper.  Two of the births are in Leclasser and the latter two being in Drinahan.  This puzzles me!
