Judy Hackett was born about 1833 in Freshford, Kilkenny, daughter of Richard Hackett and Catherine Butler. The family also had links to Ballingarry (Slieveardagh), Tipperary, where her siblings were baptised.
Judy married Thomas Francis Pollard on 18 Sep 1855 in Ballingarry, and immediately boarded the Lord Raglan with a party led by her uncle, coming to South Australia. Tom and Judy (Julia) later moved to Melbourne, Victoria.
Judy/Julia/Joanna died on 15 Apr 1897 in South Melbourne.
