My maternal grandmother Mary Sullivan(Gabha)was born Sept 8th 1870.She was daughter to Thomas Sullivan (1844-1916) and Kate Kelly(1846- 1917) of Ohermong,Cahersiveen. Her siblings were Ellen born Dec 1864,Denis 1866,John 1868 Chicago, Catherine 1873-1925 ,Thos Jnr 1875-1875. and Eugene 1877-1952.Mary and her elder sister Ellen went to Chicago circa 1888.They both spent over 10 years there and were back home for the 1901 census..Mary is also in the 1900 U.S. CENSUS, living in Shields Lake,Illinois.Mary married my grandfather Jim Donoghue on Feb 4th 1904 in The O'Connell Church, Cahersiveen.She became the mother of seven children.JohnJoseph b1905,Bridie (1906-2000), Joe (1908-1999), Molly 1909-1995, Nora(1911-1992),Patsy (1914-1982) and Ellie (1915-2005).Mary developed cancer circa 1935 and died onJune 29th1937 in her 67th year.She is buried in Keel Cemetery with her baby JohnJoseph, husband Jim and son Patsy.
