Patrick was born in Townland of Tievegarriff, Ballynakill, son of John Coyne and Ellen "Nellie" Welch. He was brother to Taghd "Tady", Rodger and Sarah Coyne. He married Mary Coyne (also) and had two children there before they left Ireland to join family in Marcellus, NY They are buried in St. Francis Xavier cemetery in Marcellus.
