Patrick Lavan (Lavin) was born in the Townland of Meeltrane, Parish of Knock in 1884. His parents were Timothy Lavan and Catherine Freeley (Freely/Frehily). Patrick emigrated to NYC around 1906. He married Bridget Carney of Shanvaghera, also from Knock Parish. Bridget's family still owns the family property.
