Place of migration
Stayed in Ireland

Samuel Devlin was born in 1815 in Ireland. He married Eliza DONNELLY in 1836 in Armagh, Armagh. I do not know when he died but his wife possibly remarried.

Eliza DONNELLY was born in January 1814 in Armagh, Armagh, the daughter of Alice and Pat. She then (possibly) married Joseph Robinson 16 Jan 1846 and they had one daughter together Mary Robinson. Eliza died in 1872 in her hometown at the age of 58.

His son Walter Joseph was born in 1839 in Keady, Armagh. Walter immigrated to Austraila 1860. His son Walter Joseph passed away on 10 December 1886 in Mooroopna, Victoria, at the age of 47.

His daughter Annie was born in 1843 in Maddan, Armagh. (Possibly). Annie immigrated to Australia and Annie passed away on 8 January 1916 in Sale, Victoria, at the age of 73.

Additional Information
Date of Birth 1st Jan 1815 (circa)

Comments

  • The information provided is a bit confusing, i.e Devlin vs Robinson.
However, I did see there is an Eliza Robinson who died in Jan 22 1872 in Cargaclougher, Keady, from typhoid at age 58.  The informant was Timothy Robinson.  There is a Timothy Robinson from Cargaclougher who married Mary Jane Henderson, May 29 1874,  His father 's name appears to be William Robinson.    Oct 23, 1884 William Robinson age 83 widower died, reported by dau-in-law Mary Jane Robinson.  Tim and Mary Jane  are on the 1901 census in Rathcarbery, Keady, age 52, with 2 sons.
They are shown as Presbyterian on the 1911 census.

Hope this is of some interest.

  • Hi Johnny Canuck

    Thank you for this information.

I am more interested in the Devlin side as I have hit a stone wall on the parents of Samuel Devlin's.

    Cheers Ian
