Sarah Templeton (nee Orr) was a Protestant from County Antrim and married Adam Templeton.  Adam was a weaver from a family of flax-growers and weavers.

Sarah was born about 1824 (son of George Orr, a farmer, and her mother was probably Agnes)

They married in 1852 in Roseyards Presbyterian Church in Ballymoney when Sarah was about 28 and Adam 26. Roseyards Church has kindly provided copies of records held there, on which this information is based.

They had eight children, five sons and three daughters before Adam died in 1869.

Sarah and many of their children ended up in Belfast, while two of their children emigrated to New Zealand (their eldest son, John, as well as Margaret) and one son emigrated to Canada.

Margaret is my great-grandmother and she emigrated to New Zealand as a single woman in 1879 and married Thompson Graham (also from County Antrim) soon after arriving (he had emigrated 5 years earlier).

Margaret's daughter Sarah Annie was my grandmother and my daughter is called Sarah.
