Thomas Samuel Cassidy was born 17 March 1885, Kilrea County Londonderry/Derry, Ireland. He moved to Scotland and married Mary Odessa McNicol on 9th July 1909 in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. They had 4 sons. William John was born on 24th March 1910. Twins Samuel and James were born on 19th May 1911. Joseph was born on 2nd November 1912 though died on the same day due to a premature birth. Mary then died on the 12 November 1912 due to complications. 

Thomas served in the Army (service number 5/18914), he is listed as "Missing" on the causualty list issue by the war office on 19th Jan 1916, his duty location is listed as Balkans with the Royal Irish Fusiliers, 5th Battalion. On 6th July 1916 he was reported as a preisoner of war on the list issue by the American Embassy. On the 20th November 1918 the War Office Daily List reported that he had been released. 

Thomas has then remarried in Glasgow, Scotland on 29th December 1919 to a woman named Martha McLatchey / Mcclatchie, these are recorded on the Petition for Citzenship of United States of America. He arrived on the 2nd November 1912 in Detrioit Michigan via D&W Ferry. Thomas signed the Declaration of Intention on 19th November 1923 which states he emigrated from Glasgow in Scotland and naturalization happend on 19th November 1930 Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

Thomas and Martha had one daughter together, Margaret Ethel Cassidy who was born 9th December 1920 in Govenhill, Glasgow, Scotland. 

Thomas died on 22nd June 1955 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA, death record states buried at Whitehaven Cemetery, Mayfield, Ohio, USA.
