  • Family lore has it that our ancestor Tristram Patton fought in the American Revolution under the name William Patton and that he was with General Washington's bodyguard, something which we have yet to corroborate.

  • Hello Linda, I though I should get in touch, I am descended from Rev Alexander Patton. My great grandmother was Helen Maude Neill nee Patton. I have posted a photo of both on the Limavady Area Ancestry Facebook page. I think I read late last night that you've been in touch with a Marcus Patton, is he a relative of Rev Alexander's son, Marcus? Best wishes, Sarah

  • Hi, Sarah,
You may have noticed my note just posted at the Limavady Facebook site. That was before I noticed the link at the bottom of the message received this morning via this site.
Anyway, I am familiar with Rev. Alexander Patton, having come across him during various searches. As I mentioned on the Facebook site, our friend Marcus of Belfast is a descendant of Rev. Alexander's son Marcus, this according to a beautifully painted family tree done by Marcus's father, of which he has shared a section with us researchers after Tristram.
    Cheers from Canada's west coast,
    Linda
