I think Taggart is a Scots-Irish name. My grandmother was Cynthia Evelyn Taggart. She knew very little about her family because she ran away from home when she was 18 to marry my 30 year old French-Canadian fur trader grandfather and they disowned her. William Taggart is my 3rd great-grand father. I know that researching geneology in Antrim County is challenging due to the paucity of church records prior to the mid-1800s and the chaotic influx of immigrants during the "Ulster Plantation" period; but I'm hoping to trace my ancestry through Antrim County to Scotland. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
