William Walton was born in Oldcastle, Meath, around 1803. William served in the Rifle Brigade, having been enlisted in 1825 and being discharged in 1846. No proof has been found to endorse the fact that he returned to Oldcastle, although it is almost certain that two older members of the family did so.
