I am looking for information about the Conlon or Haughey families of Londonderry in 1862

Roger Haughey and Margaret Conlon Haughey left Lissan, Londonderry is 1862 with their family: Patrick, Roger, Michael, Daniel, Mary, Margaret, and Bridget, all Haughey.  They sailed from Liverpool on the Ship America of New York and arrived in the Port of New York on August 22, 1864.  Traveling with them were John Sloan and Bridget Sloan, who died on board the ship in between the lower decks, according to the ship's manifest.  (The relationship is unclear. Family accounts say Bridget Sloan was the married daughter of the Haugheys.  But the ship's manifest clearly names Bridget Sloan, 23, and Bridget Haughey,20.  The Haughey family traveled to Johnstown, Cambria County, PA and upon arrival, according to newspaper account, the family was quarrentined. Mr and Mrs Haughey and their daughter Bridget Slane died within days of ship's fever, according to the newspaper account.

  • Hello. My name is Allison Haughey, and Roger Haughey and Margaret Conlon were my grandfather’s great-great grandparents. I have also been trying to find out more information about them and was wondering if you were able to find anything. Are you also related to the Haughey/Conlon family? Thank you!
