MacDonagh's Schoolhouse
MacDonagh's Schoolhouse

This property was domestic up to 1865 when John Grace operated a forge from here. The Catholic parish took possession of the building and opened the first RC National school with the girls on one side and the boys on the other.  Thomas macDonagh's parents were the first teachers here and it was here where Thomas himself went to school.  It later became a very active youth club and is now used by the school for storage.
