Griffiths’ Survey, carried out from 1848 to 1864 was conducted to assess how much money every district should pay for the ‘Poor Law Rate’, a tax to support the poor of the area. It covers Stradbally and contains information on the people living in Stradbally, how much property they had, and its value.
