On 31 May 1911, the hull of the Titanic was successfully launched and by 31 March 1912, the fitting of the Titanic was complete.
The Titanic began sea trials at 6 am on the 2nd of April, 1912. It docked in Southhampton the following day, from where it would begin its maiden voyage via Cherbourg and Cobh (then Queenstown) bound for New York.
