  • Robert Campion was the brother of my great-great grandmother, Elizabeth Campion. Robert was known as Bob to his brothers and sisters.

He was born in Rathdowney on 28 August 1834, according to his obituary in a New Zealand newspaper on the PapersPast web site.

I have a photo of Bob Campion that I received from Frances Maher, nee Campion, when I visited Ireland in 2002.

  • Hello Lee,

My name is Guillermo "Willie" Mancebo. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1959, but now live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. My mother, Ethel Alicia Campion is the grand daughter of Robert Campion, and daughter of Michael Campion, Robert's youngest son. She's 85 years old now and lives in Buenos Aires. Robert emigrated from California to Argentina in the late 1800's, where my grandfather Michael was born. Robert left initially to Australia, then New Zealand, USA and finally Argentina, where he became a prominent swine farmer and land owner. Michael was sent by Robert to study secondary school at Clongowes Woods College near Dublin, from 1914 to 1917. My daughter Delfina is currently studying Medical School at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin and has been there since 2020. We just come from a trip to Dublin and we visited Clongowes where we found information and pictures from my grandfather Michael. I have been trying to find relatives in Ireland or elsewhere but with not much luck so far. It would be great to connect and share some of the information on our families. My email is gmancebo59@gmail.com. Best regards

    Guillermo Mancebo
