Migrated to/Born in USA

My ancestor, David Carson, the first bearing my surmame, came to America in 1784 and settled in Franklin County Pennsylvania. Numerous census and probate records substantiate these facts. He subsequently returned to Ireland where he married Jean Oliver in 1788 whom he brought back to America with him. I am searching for records or other evidence of the Carson and Oliver families in Ireland or their progenitors in Scotland.

Several documents survive that attest to these events. Three of these are transcribed below.

We the Dissenting Clergy Man and other inhabitens of the Parish of Donaughady & County Tyrone Ireland do certify that the bearer David Carson was born and bred of honest Protestant Disenting parents and brought up in that faith and has lived a sober regular life which we hope will recommend him to our brethren in america whome he may chance to associate with; given under our hands the 30th May 1784.
