Migrated to/Born in New Zealand

Alexander Shaw was my great-grandfather. He was born in County Cavan (verified on his son's birth certificate) in 1845 (or thereabouts) and he migrated alone to Auckland, New Zealand in 1865, where he married Esther Logan of County Tyrone in 1870 and they had two daughters, followed by four sons. We believe Alexander was an orphan with no siblings, so there is not a lot to go on! We do know that he was definitely Church of Ireland, but don't know which parish. He died in Auckland, New Zealand on 6 July, 1909.
