Edward and Catherine O'Brien had a son, William, who was born approximately 1844 in Tipperary. William married Margaret Doran (baptised Waterford and Tipparary, Diocese of Cashel and Emly, April 1843) in 1867. William and Margaret gave birth to a son, Edward, in 1867, in Waterford, shortly before sailing for America. Edward remained in Ireland.
