Frances (Fanny) was born in 1819 in Cavan. She arrived in Victoria, Australia on the 'Neptune' on 28 May 1841, with her brother Philip. She married William Thomas Smith 1821-1888, on 18 Feb 1847 at St Francis Cathedral in Melbourne. They settled in Geelong Victoria and had five children.
