I am trying to trace my father's grandfather. The first record I have of him being in New Zealand is his Application for Marriage to Margaret HYNES dated 1874 in Auckland. He worked as a miner in Thames but moved between Auckland and Thames before passing away in 1903. Birth certificates of his children show Henry's place of birth in a variety of places - Valparaiso, Chile; Liverpool and Sweden. I have had no luck tracking down anything from the Chile Catholic Records. There is no mention of any family coming to New Zealand with him and I cannot find him arriving in New Zealand although there is a Henry Kelly arriving in 1863 but I am unsure if this is him. Any suggestions on where I could look would be amazing.
NB: I have put County Cork as a place as my Dad thought this was where the family were from but this, to date, is not proven.
