I am wondering if this is my ancestor, though the dates aren't identical to what I was told. I was told my great great grandfather was Michael Kain, said to be born 1818. He had 3 sons who emigrated, one was my great grandfather. The story goes that the 3 boys argued on the ship and parted ways when they arrived. They each changed the spelling of their name, our branch became Kain. My great grandfather eventually moved to Wisconsin. I would love to verify whether this is the same "Kain." If anyone has info I would love to hear it!
