Unity Diver arrived Free on 'Helen' into Port Jackson, Sydney 21 Jul 1841 with Charles and Sarah Boyle and family from Tulloghbegley, Donegal. Brought out by Gilchrist and Alexander for £19 at 20 years age and a Farm Servant, Catholic from Donegal. Neither reads or writes. Rev'd Hugh McFaddden certified registry of Baptism 1841. She married John Jones, a Welsh convict on 12 Jan 1844 at West Maitland, NSW, Australia by Catholic priest Fr John Thomas Lynch. No church is mentioned. Witnesses Henry and Mrs Crook. John stated he was a member of the Church of England. They had two daughter Margaret and Mary Anne and a son Daniel - later John Daniel. John Jones died in 1848, but I have the feeling he was not with the family at this point. Unity had a daughter to John McCann in October 1850 and claimed alimony for her illegitimate daughter. She then married David Peebles, an ex-convict, with the same priest in the same place on 11 Feb 1851, less than 4 months later. They went on to have four more children while living in Stanhope NSW. At some point they moved to the Coonabarabran area of NSW. She became a baker at some point.  Unity died on 2 Jul 1895 at 80 years age in Coonabarabran and is buried in the Old R/C Cemetery Coonabarabran.

Rev'd Hugh McFaddden was the parish priest in Cloughaneely of Raymunterdory and Tullaghobegley from 1849-1868 Where was he in 1840 - 1841 when he certified Unity's baptism? Gortahork Catholic church is the closest as far as I am aware. All help welcome
