Peter Bradley was born sometime around 1833 in Ireland and immigrated to Philadelphia sometime before the mid-1850s. The names of his parents are unknown, but his brother, Patrick Bradley, was born sometime around 1836 in Ireland and died in 1866 in Philadelphia.
Peter was employed as a tinsmith and brother, Patrick, was working as a bookbinder. Peter married Mary C. Hennessy on November 21st, 1858 in Philadelphia and the couple had three known children: Ellen, Mary and Catharine.
Peter was a sergent for the 61st Pennsylvania Regiment, Company G and was killed at the Battle of Wilderness on May 8, 1864 in Virginina. According to the Pittsburg Daily Commercial newspaper, Peter was killed by a gunshot wound to the head.
