Bedilia was my great, great grandmother, Rose Whealan's sister.  Born in Ireland, 1838.  She sailed to America by herself in 1858.  She settled in Mariposa, California. She met and married John Banton. They had three children, a daughter and two sons.  Bedilia died near Mariposa in 1871, a few months after her only daughter had died.  Rose also immigrated to Mariposa by 1850.
